  1. Did not know about Ninite; so convenient for a fresh install. Thanks for the great info! Also, I have to give credit to W10 for having an actual useful search bar compared to earlier versions of Windows.

  2. Hoping for the best but planning for the worst….if this process doesn't work is it easy to get back to Windows 7? Also, given that Windows 11 is supposedly on the horizon would it be better to go from 7 to 10 first, now, and then from 10 to 11, or wait and just go from 7 to 11?

  3. excellent tip on turning off all privacy settings. on a different computer i left them on and what a hassle. on both Inspiron 1720 and 1525 installed Pro with settings turned off. smooth sailing. for my personal Vaio i have dual boot. Win 7 and Win 10 Pro

  4. I have 2 Toshiba laptops Win 8.1 and a third with Win 7. Does this upgrade to free Win 10 still work on June 8th 2021 and if the answer is yes should I do backup for restore before I begin? Will I be able to restore to what they were if it fails?

  5. If your computer is an old model and has window 7, its hardware may not be compatible to window 10. Try window 8 or 8.1 first. They last for another 2 years or so. Nice clip but it may not work ! Bill Gates is not so easy as you think.

  6. Thanks for this info! One question: when upgrading from Win7 Pro, the install never asks you for the MS windows key? I thought it does at some point in the process, am I wrong? If it asks for the key, are you saying that your old Win7 Pro key still works or do you still need to buy a Win10 key? Or if anyone else reading knows, please inform me.

  7. I find your guidance very easy to follow Michael; thank you. Question, what if I'm using Windows Virtual setup within Windows 7 in order to use a program I like a lot? How can I continue to use that older program in Windows 10. The program is Acad Map version 2000.

  8. Thank you so very, very much! Today I watched your video all the way through just to get familiar with what you were saying and doing. I was/am impressed with your calmness and felt like I was taking a class. I watched it again and took notes, then paused it as I did what needed to be done on the Windows 7 computer. I had a successful install, thanks to you!! Thank you also for your information towards the end. I definitely will be using the Classic Start information! I am very glad that I found your video!! Thanks so much again!! Have a wonderful day!

  9. I have become to think that a "security update" is really a feature update. Even Epson printers has an "important security update" that limits after market ink cartridges from being used in epson printers so you have to buy their ink cartridges. "Its important to microsoft" so therefore it is "security related". haha I mean how could a closed source operating system need so many real security updates from being hacked when Linux is open source and has few hacks? because security updates in microsoft is not really security at all. It is only feature and functionality updates. Just look at the apps that Win10 runs. Explorer is the same old explorer. The device manager in win 7 is the same device manager in Win10. And I could go on and on. Win10 is like a new "theme" or gui. Thats all. A new menu. thats all. why do you think you can flip back and forth from win10 back to win7 within "10 days". Because its the same apps, just a different gui.
